Well here I am back finally. It has been a rough few days. We discoverd the C is back in my lungs now. Sooooo, the new plan is: 5FU & Lev, FOLFOX, & Avastin. I will have the chemo drip on day one and day two, and wear a pump for 2 days. Anyone that has been through this, can you tell me how you did?
It is still cold and snowy here. We are all wondering when this winter will change over to spring! One thing for sure, we will appreciate spring when it gets here after this long winter!
We have had dinner a few times at our son and his bride’s home. It has been so nice to see how well they get along and how happy they are. I wish them happiness forever!
I am off to the surgeon’s today. Having a port put back in tomorrow (I think). Then chemo regime will start next week. I am a bit nervous…but I will do the best I can.
I hope all of you are doing well.
Sue

Sue,
The news we dread, pray we will not hear, but are never surprised by… I am sorry it is back. Your treatment appears to be first rate. Go get it girl! Knock that “C” into the next universe! Spring will reach you eventually and make such a difference. I am in California and it is 71 today after weeks of cold wind and rain. The trees have blossoms, the sun feels wonderful, and the world seems a better place. As always, our prayers are with you.
Hi Sue
That’s the good stuff, it sounds like they are being aggressive. That’s the exact regimen our Mom is on. She has a colostomy so the Avastin has caused her some problems. You have to be careful of bleeding with that; internal, stomach, etc. But her problems were associated with the colostomy so if you don’t have one hopefully it won’t be a problem. She also experiences neuropathy on the Folfox. She can’t drink anything cold and her extremities get tingly and cold easily. She has gotten used to it now but it is the worst the first couple days and it starts immediately after receiving the chemo.
But….her CEA levels continue to fall and the tumors are shrinking so the treatment works! I hope that is some consolation aside from the side effects!
No words to express our distress for you Sue – Girl. Everyone knows you as a fighter, you have so often shown us all that.May the Great Spirits guard and give you strength to continue this Fight.
Love, Juan & Al
Good luck with your new regime. Here’s a brave lady who is on the same one: Maggie at www.thumpers-hole.net
Sue – Sorry I haven’t been blogging in awhile. I am sorry to hear that you’re going back on chemo and am praying for you to knock those tumors out for good! I’ll be in Detroit towards the end of this month for spring break. Maybe I can stop by and see you one of those days? I hope you’re feeling well and eating healthy and staying strong. Take care and I’ll be in touch!
Kelly
