It has become pretty cold here the last couple of days. As much as I hate cold weather it is kind of nice to wrap up in a blankie and rest on the couch all cuddly.
I had cat scans yesterday and will get results tomorrow. I am nervous as all of you know. My feet got pretty bad on the chemo this time. Have hand and foot syndrome. I went off the chemo 4 days early to try and give them and break. I am on my week off right now so hopefully they will clear up.
I made some stew a few days ago…so yummy. A great winter dinner. Tonight I am making some veggie soup. I also made some pea soup last week! YUMMY! These are such easy things to make with me trying to stay off my feet, I just plop everything in the slow cooker—takes about 10 minutes and I am done——then a few hours later it fills the house with great aromas—-smells like grandma is here cooking.

Hey Sue, I understand all of the anxiety. Yesterday I saw my oncologist and all of my news was bad. My tumor marker keeps rising even on my latest chemo which is not working, nor did the last two. My white cells, and red cells are very low as are my platelets, so chemo was postponed. We will see what next week’s cell counts are and my marker. I pray my counts go up and my marker goes down. I have a brain MRI today to see if the gamma knife radiation worked on my two brain tumors done a month ago. I was given 18 months as a prognosis, 12 months ago. I figured I’d beat it as my first chemo response was phenomenal. Now I am afraid that it may have been an accurate prediction.
But my mom has made chicken soup and pumpkin pies. My 18 year old daughter has made beef stew. I know what you mean! I am in Northern California and it has been sunny and about 60 degrees. I lived in Chicago for 11 years so I understand your definition of cold. Good luck on your CAT scans. Let us know the results. I will be in touch regarding all of my results when I get them next Tuesday.
